We have days when we wake up feeling grateful for all the blessings we have been given. On other days, we wonder why we have so many problems in our lives. It seems like many outcomes in our life are out of our control…

But sometimes, we get the unique chance to do something meaningful and to actually be in full control. Today was one of those days for me.

The day started off routine. Then, during my usual walk, I saw a dog attacking a pigeon. My initial thought was, “Oh well, there’s the food chain in action. Dog needs to eat, pigeon needs to die.” But something inside nudged me to intervene, and I chased the dog away. Sadly, the pigeon lay still, seemingly lifeless.

As I continued my walk, I saw the dog returning, and the pigeon struggling. This time, I acted decisively. With the help of another passerby, we scared the dog away again. We found the pigeon had a broken wing and was bleeding. With no safe place outside, I brought it home, wrapped it in a towel, and placed it in a cardboard box. Two friends helped me locate a place that could care for the pigeon.

Did you know there’s a Pigeon Hospital in Rajajinagar? They treat injured pigeons for free. Here’s the link: Pigeon Hospital

Long story short, my friend named the pigeon Lil P, and now it looks quite comfy in the box. Tomorrow, I’ll take it to the hospital as soon as its open.

I didn’t write this story just to talk about us saving a pigeon. The pigeon symbolizes anyone in need in your own life. And you my friend, can be their savior. Always remember that!

I think the takeaway is to see our potential for goodness towards people, animals, and nature. Choosing compassion and love over indifference and competition is what sets us apart as human beings.

Next time you see someone or something in trouble, help. Make our Bengaluru, Namma Bengaluru, a brighter, safer, and more caring place. And don’t worry about time—you’ll always have enough to get your work done. This has been my experience every time I do a good deed.

If you have any such experiences to share that would help others, please send it to us at +91 80750 58755 or cospheres1@gmail.com

Peace out.
